Compassionate by nature, Dr. Alex Garcia says his lifelong inclination toward medicine and science is what pushed him to pursue his passion for becoming a surgeon. As an undergraduate, he spent time shadowing a local podiatrist and realized then that this was the specialty best suited for him. Dr. Garcia understands that learning is an ongoing process – He enjoys honing his expertise in new techniques and technology as they are perfected, to best serve his patients. Dr. Garcia credits the gratifying feeling that accompanies fixing patients’ foot and ankle issues while relieving their pain as a source of continual motivation.
Dr. Alex Garcia received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Following graduation, he completed a residency at Temple University Hospital and Dallas Southwest Medical Center with a specialization in podiatric orthopedics and podiatric surgery, respectively.
He is a founding associate of the American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA), board certified in Primary Care in Podiatric Medicine and Podiatric Surgery through the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry (ABMSP), and physician certified in Wound Care by the Council for Medical Education and Testing (CMET). He has additional training in the fields of microsurgery and peripheral nerve surgery.
Dr. Garcia is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), Texas Podiatric Medical Association (TPMA), and the North Texas Latin American Physicians Association (NTLAPA). He is affiliated with Baylor Medical Center at Irving, Irving Coppell Surgical Hospital, Forest Park Medical Center of Dallas, and the Las Colinas Surgery Center.
